Home Up Tithes Offerings,Alms SeedSeed

I want to say thank you! To all those who have gone before us in teaching on The Seed, Prosperity, and Who we are in Christ. They have laid the foundation for where my wife and I are today. Their words, teachings and prayers have brought us closer to the truth and knowledge of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit.

We bless you and thank you

For those coming after us I hope they will be able to say the same about us as we have said of our predecessors.

In most cases, we have used the King James Bible as our point of reference, with the Strong’s Concordance. I have tried to convey what the accuracy and wording was when the writers first penned the verses we are using. I pray I am accurate

Most of all I must thank my wife Dr Amy Price and our Children, Kathleen and Ryan who have sat through hundreds, and for my wife thousands of meetings while I have Ministered on the subject of Prosperity over the last twenty plus years.

Patience is a virtue that some of us come by naturally and others must acquire. I Bless you Dr. Amy Price, my wife.

This book on the Seed is another in a series based on teachings I have given over the years in the area of Prosperity. Gods Word does not change, His people do. As we acquire more knowledge and understanding of the Word of God, the Lord expects us to walk in it.

The Apostle Paul said it this way:

 1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became an adult, I put away childish things.

When it came to money, the writer of Ecclesiastes said it this way:

 Ecclesiastes 10:19...

… but money answers all things.

 Ecclesiastes 9:16...

… nevertheless, the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

 Ecclesiastes 2:26

For God gives to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he gives to travail (the ability to work), to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God....

 The Prophet Zechariah said

 Zechariah 1:17 ...

My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad...

Many people when they hear a person is teaching on prosperity say, you seem to be choosing your favorite verses and leaving out others that contradicted your position. The Apostle Paul and the writer of Ecclesiastes both talked about several other things in their writings. Just as some of our modern day, writers and Ministers are anointed to teach about Prayer, Brokenness, Humility, Holiness, Sanctification, etc. I am anointed to teach in the area of Prosperity. Just as other Ministers in the Body of Christ, I will use scripture verses that will reinforce the area of teaching I am anointed in. That is not to say I do not recognize and understand the other scripture verses but that is not the intent of this book. The intent of this book is to bring revelation to the reader in the area of prosperity.

Just as Prayer and Holiness are vital parts of our life, so are Prosperity and the planting of seed. As we pray we expect God to answer and bring results, as we walk in Holiness before the Lord, we know He will honor our stand. The planting of seed is giving with the expectation of the Lord bringing a return for our efforts.

In this book, I will try and explain what seed is and what it is not. If you want a financial blessing or you need the Lord to intervene in circumstances in your life, then the sowing of seed is one way to see it come to pass. It is not the only way but it is one way.

We have watched over the years as the Lord has blessed His people with financial blessings, especially when they were young in the Faith, but as they became older in the Faith, they did not seem to be so supernaturally blessed. Why? I hope to answer some of these questions.

We have seen people believing for the 30, 60-fold returns and it has come to pass. We have watched while some have sown $10:00 to receive $100.00 and it has come to pass. In each case, they have called this sowing of seed, and although this is a true saying and the Lord has honored, their heart, with what they have said and sown. It is not the full revelation of sowing. This book will bring some of these truths to light.

When it comes to the sowing of seed and the harvest that comes forth the only reference that seems to be absolute is in:

 Genesis 26:12

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and a harvest appeared the same (not bound by time or the law) year (as a revolution of time) a hundredfold: …

What is Seed

God gives seed to the sower; this verse goes on to say God increases the seed sown, increases our bread and increases the fruit of our righteousness.

 11 Corinthians 9:10

Now he that Ministered seed to the sower both Minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;

Many people want to sow prayer or good works and feel this is sufficient. I would say to that reasoning this is not sowing, but our Christian duty. I am not saying that their doing these things will not produce Gods favor in their lives, but there is a greater truth to the sowing of seed. It also has been my experience in Ministering on seed in several continents of the world, the people that want to concentrate on prayer and good works as their seed, are the same people that are not faithful in their Tithes and Offerings. They are using prayer and good works to remain in rebellion to God in the area of returning Gods Tithe to Him.

 Malachi 3:8

Will a man rob God? Yet, you have robbed me. But you say, how have we robbed you? In Tithes and Offerings.

Can you imagine a farmer going out in his field every day and praying over the land? Or going out and tilling the ground and fertilizing it every week (good works), or professing a good profession over his farm every day. These activities in themselves are good and Godly things to do, but without actually putting seed in the ground, he will not have a harvest.

Remember God said He would increase the seed sown. Please take some time to read 11 Corinthians chapters 8 and 9 and see as the Apostle Paul was writing to the Corinthian Church how he was admonishing them for

 A) Not living up to a commitment last the year, chapter 8

B) Give not grudgingly or by feelings this year, chapter 9

There is nowhere in these passages that we are told not to sow physical seed. Neither the Apostle Paul nor the Macedonia Church were able to live of the prayers and good feelings of the Corinthian people. It takes finances to purchase food, it takes finances to pay the rent and it takes finances to travel from one country to another.

As you read 11 Corinthians chapter 8:1 through to 11 Corinthians chapter 11:15 you will see the Apostle Paul was referring to finances and the attitudes of the Corinthian people towards them.

I am not saying that what you give out will not be the same thing you receive back. But I am saying that many times the things we have referred to as seed, Gods word does not call them seed. A better communication on what we are doing would be to call those things our Christian duty and that we find it a privilege to give freely from our Spirit and Soul that which the Lord has sow freely given us.

We hear people all the time say, Dr. Price if our people would only pray like they do in developing countries we would see every Nation changed. There is a truth in this saying, but the reality is we are not seeing every Nation changed and even those in developing countries that stay at home to pray for Gods blessing find themselves in need of financial support from someone else other than God Himself.

There will always be exceptions to the rule of the natural. God is not bound by the natural and He will do what He wants and when He wants. Some people have more faith in one area than others, some people have a special calling in one area, and the favor of God will manifest itself for them in that area. But in the normal, God will work with His people according to the Laws of the Spirit and they will coincide with the logos (written word) of Gods word.

Deuteronomy 28:1

And it shall come to pass, if thou shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

Seed for prosperity needs to planted in the ground. Seed sown is seed grown.

As we look at the first time seed is mentioned in, the Bible we see that majority of the meaning is related to something physical.

  Genesis 1:11

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so

H2233.zeh'-rah; from H2232; seed; fig. fruit, plant, sowing-time, posterity: -- X carnally, child, fruitful, seed (-time), sowing-time.

H2232.zaw-rah'; a prim. root; to sow; fig. to disseminate, plant, fructify: --bear, conceive seed, set with, sow (-er), yield.

  Dictionary definition:

Seed - Progeny (noun) - Descendants - Heirs – Offspring See (d) - to receive (verb) - To Take Possession Off - To Overcome

Let me address the 30, 60, 100 fold scripture verses. As stated earlier we have seen people sow and receive many different multiplications of blessings back in their lives. We have heard many people teach and expound on the 30, 60, 100-fold return, their teaching for the most part is erroneous and will not bring long term blessing into the life of the believer. Long term, the 100 fold principle is what will work on a regular and consistent basis for our life.

The verses below explain to us the 30, 60, 100-fold return. It is not physical seed sown in the ground but: the Word of God sown in the heart of man.

Luke 8:11 ... The seed is the word of God

Luke 8:15

But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it (keep what? the Word) and bear fruit with patience.

Mark 4:14 The sower sows the word (logos).

Mark 4:20

But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it (accept what? the Word) and bear fruit: some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred…

You will notice I have confined my comments to the scriptures.

In the natural world, of which we are not to be governed by, there was in the time of Isaac a common yield of 30, 60, fold return. God was not limiting Isaac to the natural harvest but to the supernatural and the over abundance.

Seed is like a computer program. Whatever is inside the program is what comes out. Our money or something physical it can and does represent seed.

We are the Computer Programmer. We name our seed. It comes out as we say.

Let me explain it this way. As with most of us, at least once a month we look at our bills and set aside certain monies for those bills. One lot of money is called telephone money to another we call it food, to another car payment to anther we call it mortgage or rent monies etc. What have we done? We have taken something physical, in this case our money, and called it something else, food, car, telephone etc.

What we are seeing here is that our money represents whatever we call it. In regards to the Kingdom of God, we can plant our finances or something money represents in the Kingdom of God and receive whatever we call those monies or seed.

Your money represents another way to have the favor of God come into your life. We will see as we progress in this book, where our seed, will bring a harvest on a need to receive basis. Just as there are many ways for Gods healing power to come to those that are in need, we see seed as another way to bring Gods favor into our lives.

We see in Genesis 1:1 where God created (bara) the world, He took something that was nothing and created something out of it. We know God can do anything He wishes. Many times especially when we are young Christians God does miracles in our lives sometimes on a daily basis. Like the Apostle Paul as we became older in the faith the Lord expects us to act more like Him

If you will read and study the rest of Genesis 1: and everywhere else I could find in the bible except where it refers to the Holy Spirit doing a miracle, the word for made and create has changed to the word (asah). Which means taking something that is already one thing (made or created) and changing the properties of the first thing into something different.

Again coming back to seed. As we give our money into the Kingdom of God the properties of our money (seed) or something else physical will change into whatever we call it, physical, emotional, or spiritual.

The Minister, Ministry or person was blessed by your offering. You received a blessing for blessing the Minister, Ministry, Church or person. But not the long-term harvest the Holy Spirit ordained for you. We will see as we go on in this teaching how to have a full harvest.

As we are seeing, sowing seed is different from tithes, (see my book on The Tithe) which is a return to God of something He has and always has had ownership. The Offering, (which I have written two books on at this writing) was to be given in this dispensation of grace to bless the Kingdom of God, bless the Minister who has Ministered to you, bless the poor, bless the orphans, bless the widows, build buildings, supply the furnishings for the buildings, just to name a few. It was not because you needed to be blessed but so you could be a blessing. With your good works, God has some promises for rewards but we were not to do the good works because of the rewards.

Once we come into the revelation that it is all right to give and expect a return we need to be careful we do not only give to receive. It would seem that you and I as humans have a tendency to want to get all we can out of life both physically and spiritually. I would suggest we should be careful in not going overboard on giving to receive. It may be good to start with one week out of every month sowing seed and the other three weeks set aside to give offerings. I am sure you will see many areas of your life you will be able to sow seed in. You have made it to this point in your life without the full knowledge of what the Lord has ordained for you. A little while longer will not hurt?

 Haste will make waste.

  Hebrews 10:36

After you have done the will of God, you have need of patience so as to posses the promises.

Tithes - A return unto God of something that He owns and that is Holy unto Him.

Offering - Was to bless the Kingdom of God and others, not ourselves.

Seed - Was to produce a crop in our lives of the things we desire.
